ASIST training logoApplied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day intensive and interactive  course aimed at enabling people to spot the risk of suicide and provide immediate help to people at risk.

In the same way that skills are needed for physical first aid, ASIST develops the skills necessary for suicide first aid.

It is suitable for anyone, including professionals, volunteers and members of the community.  Participants range from those in caring roles to people concerned about family members or friends.

The course is free of charge to anyone living or working in Scottish Borders.

Training will take place at Langlee Community Centre in Galashiels, from 9am-5pm, on the following dates:

  • Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th May
  • Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th September
  • Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th December
