Working Groups

Service User Carer Working Group

This is a broad group open to people who use adult social care services and carers with an interest in health and social care. The group usually concentrates on services for older people, people with physical disabilities and long term conditions (outside of mental health). Members can raise any issue or concern at the group in relation to health and social care and the group decides which areas to focus on. Members of the group also attend other planning meetings on themes such as homecare and telehealthcare. The group regularly interfaces with statutory services, inviting guests to update and inform the group and answer questions. It also takes part in local public consultations relating to health and social care Jenny Smith for more details.

Mental Health & Wellbeing Forum

The Forum aims to give a voice to people with lived experience and carers to improve services and the outcomes of the people that use them. It’s for mental health service users, carers and others interested in mental health and wellbeing. It is an ‘open forum’ where individuals can raise concerns and issues and report back from other meetings and projects they are involved in.  The forum interfaces with local statutory mental health services via their joint planning groups and boards. E-mail for information and download a leaflet about the Forum.

Borders Dementia Working Group

The group is open to people with dementia and their carers. It seeks to be the local voice of people with dementia. It also aims to make the Borders more dementia friendly and influence policy. Contact Jenny Smith for more details. Download the group flyer.
