The Borders General Hospital Participation Network is looking for new members. The group meets every second Thursday of the month at the BGH. Its remit is to:
- offer a public perspective and support to the BGH on ways to improve their services
- encourage open and honest debate between staff and the public
- ask the “silly questions” and feel comfortable to ask them. Staff to support and encourage public members to ask anything
- encourage staff to use clear and accessible ways of communicating information (no acronyms!)
- focus on solutions and work alongside staff
- help broaden membership
- support staff on ways of communicating key messages
- support staff not to be defensive but to be open to challenge
- respect the views of other people whether you agree or not and challenge others in a respectful and constructive way.
Anyone interested in being involved should contact Susan Hogg on 01896 826701 or e-mail susan.hogg@borders.scot.nhs.uk
