The Borders General Hospital Participation Network is looking for new members. The group meets every second Thursday of the month at the BGH. Its remit is to:

  • offer a public perspective and support to the BGH on ways to improve their services
  • encourage open and honest debate between staff and the public
  • ask the “silly questions” and feel comfortable to ask them.  Staff to support and encourage public members to ask anything
  • encourage staff to use clear and accessible ways of communicating information (no acronyms!)
  • focus on solutions and work alongside staff
  • help broaden membership
  • support staff on ways of communicating key messages
  • support staff not to be defensive but to be open to challenge
  • respect the views of other people whether you agree or not and challenge others in a respectful and constructive way.

Anyone interested in being involved should contact Susan Hogg on 01896 826701 or e-mail susan.hogg@borders.scot.nhs.uk
