The Borders Community Empowerment Conference is a free event hosted by the Borders Third Sector Partnership, which comprises The Bridge, Volunteer Centre Borders, Berwickshire Association for Voluntary Service, and Scottish Borders Social Enterprise Chamber.
The conference will be held on Saturday 21st November at the Tweed Horizons Centre, Newtown St. Boswells, from 9.30am-3pm.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the new Community Empowerment legislation passed in June 2015, and to encourage people to become involved in the new powers that it gives to the community.
It will also outline how the Borders Third Sector Partnership can best support community organisations to develop and maintain enterprising community assets.
